With Halloween coming up--yes, I will be at the Aero's all-night horror marathon, at least until they bust out the Italian "gialli"--this site about Tod Browning's "Freaks" seemed necessary.
It wasn't until I saw this post that it occurred to me that my "suppressed ending" to "It's a Wonderful Life" owes as much to "Freaks" as to SNL, "Frankenstein", and "Carrie".

Although the scene I wrote is explicitly life-affirming, and squarely (yes, I mean this word as a pun) in the Biblical tradition.
