Get Ready to Smile

I can't wait! I can't wait! Brian Wilson is preparing to release a refurbished, complete version of his famous "Smile" album. "Smile" was the much-anticipated follow up to "Pet Sounds," probably one of the five best rock and roll albums ever recorded. Wilson spent nearly a year (mid-1966 to early 1967) recording and rerecording the songs, but suffered a nervous breakdown before finishing. (Hearing Sgt. Pepper and feeling beaten to the punch didn't help.) Fans have been trading bootlegs and assembling their own versions of Smile for 37 years, but now we're going to get Wilson's own finished one. September 28th! Mark it down!
